I’m Ethan, bringing you a quick look at what’s happening with Round Rock Parks and Recreation from now through the end of October.

Looking for something to do Saturday morning?
Trailside Market continues Saturday mornings through October at Memorial Park. Stop by from 9 a.m. to noon and shop local artisans and farmers while enjoying a morning along the trail. No registration needed.
On Saturday, September 26, Play for All Park hosts the Special Needs Family Jamboree from 9 a.m. to noon, featuring games, activities and adaptive resources for families. Registration is available through Casey’s Circle.
Now, let’s jump into October.
The Resource Expo comes to the Allen R. Baca Center on Friday, October 9, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. This event is for adults 50 and older, and no registration is needed.
The Baca Center also hosts the AARP Smart Driver Course on Tuesday, October 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required at the Baca Center front desk.
And then it’s time for a little Halloween fun!
The Halloween Costume Dance is Friday, October 23, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Baca Center for adults 50 and older. Registration is required, and yes, costumes are definitely encouraged!
October 23 is also the deadline to submit photos for the Veterans Wall of Honor. Uniform photos will be displayed in the Baca Center lobby throughout November.
On Saturday, October 24, Ascension Seton hosts Trunk or Treat from 4 to 6 p.m. for individuals with disabilities and their families. Pre-registration is required for participating trunks.
Interested in Round Rock history? Join the Preservation Lunch and Learn at the Baca Center on Tuesday, October 27, from noon to 1 p.m. No registration needed.
And for the little ones, Fall Fun Festival: Pumpkin Playland takes over Old Settlers Park on Wednesday, October 28, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
It’s a morning of fall fun designed especially for toddlers and preschoolers, and no registration is required.
But special events are only part of what’s happening.
Saturday Swim Lessons run October 3 through October 24 at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center Pool.
Thinking about becoming a lifeguard? Lifeguard Preparation Courses are available in September and October, and the multi-day Lifeguard Training certification course begins October 2 at Clay Madsen.
Ready to get moving? GAINZ Strength Training offers six-week weight-training sessions, while Grit 60 brings four weeks of high-intensity strength and conditioning for women.
Chair Yoga is also available Wednesdays at the Baca Center.
For Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation, October programs include the Adaptive Sports Clinic featuring soccer, Adaptive Challenge Island, Adaptive Martial Arts and All Abilities Yoga.
There’s plenty for kids, too!
Kids’ Clubhouse offers weekday afterschool care at Clay Madsen, while Kinderdance and Kindergym bring dance and tumbling into the mix.
Families can explore Together We Grow and Family Art and Music sessions.
Young creators can jump into Snapology STEAM Club, while young strategists can sharpen their skills with weekly classes from The Knight School Chess Academy.
And, of course, we’ve got sports!
Firestorm Volleyball Academy, Peak Performance Academy and Youth and Adult Karate all offer opportunities to get active this fall.
Adult fall leagues include kickball, sand volleyball, basketball, pickleball and softball, with league play beginning in October.
And youth soccer and volleyball leagues continue through October.
Registration is required for these programs, classes and leagues, so be sure to check availability at roundrockrecreation.com.
